Disadvantages of a debt collecting order
Well, what is a debt collecting order? If you are a person whom did not pay a bill within a specific amount of time, specifically 30 days or, more, depending on which state you live in, more than likely you will receive a call from a bill collector or, more formally, a collections agency.
Once you are faced with the fact and reality that your bill is unpaid and you have to deal with a collection agency one must first understand the general disadvantage is that the agency does have a reason and right to call you. And, the reason for them calling you is to collect a debt. Although guidelines vary on debt collecting, it can be a stressful situation because of the fact that you owe the debt and they are allowed to be creative in how the go about collecting it from you.
Obviously, paying the bill would be the perfect solution but, the debt collecting order can have drastic affects if it isnt paid within a specific time frame. The big three credit bureaus will quickly know about a tax lien. Another disadvantage of receiving a debt collection order is that you can be sued, which means you may have to attend court. Attending federal court for an unpaid debt could cost you more money if you have to seek legal counsel. A debt collecting order that is negotiated through the courts must be paid!!! If it is not, then the sheriff will come to your house and evacuate you.
Today, a debt collecting order initiated by a collection agency or bill collector is strategically crafted. They can sometimes harass you while still obeying the federal collection agency laws. And this can make the process of a debt collecting order even more stressful for the person on the other end.
